Will my cherry shrimp eggs survive?
7g heavily planted tank (lots of hiding places and a large piece of driftwood) with neon tetras and rasboars (about 6 total) and 3 ottocinclus. Along with the many cherry shrimp there are about 5 ghost shrimp. Will any of these try to eat or harm the 20 or so eggs one of the cherry shrimp is carrying around (looks like shes ready to drop them).
Overstocking comments will be ignored as I am an advanced aquarium hobbyist and know how to handle stocking, thank you though.
The eggs will survive, as long as the female does. When they hatch and the shrimplets are released, they’ll be eaten right away. They’re a good, healthy food source for the community. But if you want to raise them, you need to breed your shrimp in a different setup.
I trust that your water quality is in order; your shrimp would not be alive otherwise. However, your fish need their "personal bubbles"/territories and swim room. This space is inadequate.
